We had our 33rd Annual Delegate Assembly today. It took place at the Wells Conference Center, University of Maine, Orono.
I would like to take this time to thank some people, the first person I would like to thank is Lisa Feldman for all her hard work at getting this arranged and organized, Marlene Charron for making sure everything was ready for us it was greatly appreciated, all the members who took time to come out on a Saturday in the rain to be there. It truly was a delight to see you all, to Lois, MEA President and Grace, MEA Vice President for visiting with us.

A special thank you to our guest speaker Ted Rooney, Maine Health Management Coalition. Ted worked as a nurse before returning to school for graduate degrees in public health policy studies. He managed employee wellness and disability programs for L.L. Bean for 15 years. Ted currently works for the Maine Health Management Coalition. He attends meetings of the UMS Employee Health Plan Task Force. He has come to speak to us about the UMS Health Insurance: Recent Changes, so to give a better understanding of these changes and why. We had elections for President and Vice President. We had two Candidates for President Lisa Henderson from UM and Dan Lalonde from UMPI. They both did a great job. Dan was elected the new President. I would like to thank Lisa for running. The Vice President is Loni Levesque from UMM.
It was a very good day despite the day started out raining, but ended in sunshine.
